Frequently Asked Questions
These are some of the most common questions you might ask yourself before visiting the blog. If you take a few minutes to read them, many of your doubts will disappear.
1. What will I find on missblasco.com?
On missblasco.com you’ll find simple recipes with a low to medium level of difficulty, made with real food and avoiding processed products as much as possible. Healthy cooking made accessible to everyone.
2. Who is this blog for?
This space is for anyone who consciously wants to take care of their diet without giving up the pleasure of eating, but who may not have much time to cook. I want to show that it’s still possible, because eating is much more than just satisfying hunger.
3. Does this blog offer nutritional advice?
No, it doesn’t. On this blog, I share recipes and tips to help you eat well, but if you have a specific health condition and feel lost when it comes to planning your meals, you should consult a qualified health professional, such as a registered dietitian or your doctor.
4. What kind of cuisine will I find on missblasco.com?
Mainly Mediterranean cuisine, including Spanish dishes and some from the Eastern Mediterranean, recipes from different parts of Spain, and many with a clear American influence.
You’ll find appetizers, snacks, main dishes, desserts, and a section of pantry basics — simple preparations that are always good to have on hand. There are also recipes made with just 4 or 6 ingredients — it doesn’t get easier than that!
5. Do you share LOW CARB / KETO recipes?
Yes, this blog features a wide variety of recipes suitable for low-carb and ketogenic diets. They are delicious, low-carb dishes that you can easily include in your regular meal rotation. I usually tag them with #lowcarb or #keto so you can find them more easily.
6. Can I find Paleo recipes?
Yes, although I don’t strictly follow a Paleo diet, I recognize its many benefits and take advantage of them. That’s why you’ll find several recipes that fit within the Paleo framework.
7. Are there vegan and/or vegetarian recipes?
Yes, you’ll find both vegan and vegetarian recipes on missblasco.com. In many of them, I also offer suggestions for how to adapt the dish by swapping out or omitting certain ingredients.
8. Are all the recipes sugar-free?
Let’s be clear: I don’t use refined sugar in my recipes — no white sugar, brown sugar, panela, syrups, or honey.
Instead, I use healthier alternatives like monk fruit, erythritol, stevia, birch sugar (also known as xylitol), lucuma, and coconut sugar. These have a lower glycemic index, but I still use them sparingly, as it’s best not to overdo it.
In some recipes, I suggest using fresh or dried fruits to naturally sweeten the dish without needing other sweeteners.
9. Are the recipes low-fat?
Not necessarily. I often include healthy fats in my recipes. Common ingredients in my kitchen include avocado, extra-virgin olive oil, coconut (and coconut oil), ghee, and nuts (almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, pistachios…).
Fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, and tuna are also frequent.
As for dairy, although I consume it occasionally, I prefer full-fat options. Greek yogurt, skyr, kefir, aged cheeses, fresh milk, and butter are among my favorites.
10. Where can I find the ingredients?
I try to use fresh, seasonal, and preferably local ingredients in my recipes. Most of the ingredients I use are plant-based — vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds — along with meats, fish, and eggs.
You can find most of them in regular supermarkets and local markets. If you have any questions about an ingredient, feel free to contact me — there may be some variations between countries.
11. Is it expensive to cook this way?
Not really. Most ingredients are affordable, especially if you choose seasonal produce, which is usually cheaper at its peak.
Some of the specialty products I buy at health food stores are more expensive, but when you consider how far they go and the health benefits they offer compared to more common alternatives, I assure you they’re worth it.
