Sugar-Free Pumpkin Spice Latte
Do you know what a Pumpkin Spice Latte is? You probably know it, but just in case, I’ll explain it to you. It’s a coffee with milk, pumpkin puree, and spices.
The point is that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is undoubtedly the hot drink of autumn, at least in the English-speaking world, and more specifically in the United States, where pumpkin is the absolute protagonist from mid-August until Christmas.
As I was recently there, I have been able to see for myself, pumpkins flood everything and the recipes that are prepared with it, too.
The Pumpkin Spice Latte is a coffee with milk, pumpkin puree, and spices.
Speaking of recipes with pumpkin, I want to invite you to consult all the ones I have published on this page, which are not few.
And I also love pumpkin, with it I prepare from a hot pumpkin cream and comforting to a sugar-free pumpkin and chocolate tart, sweet and delicious.
My pumpkin and coconut pudding is perhaps my favorite recipe and the diced pumpkin with blue cheese are the ultimate autumn appetizer.
But if we’re looking for the most famous pumpkin recipe in the world, it’s undoubtedly Pumpkin Pie, which translates as Pumpkin Pie and originates in the USA.
Pumpkin Pie is a classic American pie, usually prepared in the fall and is the star dessert on Thanksgiving night.
You might be thinking I’ve gone off topic and that we were talking about coffee… Right! Now you’ll understand.
To prepare a good pumpkin spice coffee, the spice mix is essential.
This reference to the quintessential American autumn dessert is necessary to put us in context and understand why Pumpkin Spice Latte.
We are talking about a coffee with milk whose characteristic flavor is given by the classic spice mix that is added to it.
And what spice mix are we referring to? Well, the same one used to prepare Pumpkin Pie.
And it is precisely this mix of spices that is added to this delicious coffee and that gives it such a special flavor.
What spices are they? Specifically, 4: cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove.
In the US, it is very easy to find this mix already prepared in any supermarket, but in Spain it is not so common, so the easiest thing is to prepare it at home.
I love making it myself because that way I can adjust the amount of each of the spices since I like some more than others.
For example, I like cinnamon to predominate and clove to be the minority ingredient.
You may love the aroma of cloves or want to feel that slight spiciness of ginger, in that case you can increase the amount of those spices.
Prepare the spice mix at home to adjust the flavor of each one.
The recipe is very simple to prepare, and if made at home, it is very economical, something that surprises me a lot when I am in the US is the willingness of many people to pay a high price for a coffee.
It is true that it is not a black coffee, cortado or with milk as we usually order here, there they are used to ordering coffees with many things, with many flavors and in huge formats.
And of course, seeing it still surprises me, but it is true that food prices there are much higher, and a package of ground coffee of about 700 g costs $ 12 so calculate.
On the other hand, you also have to take into account that the most famous American coffee shop, and in those that imitate it, the processes are very systematized, and the profit margins are enormous.
In Spain there are also some branches of these companies, generally in large cities, there you can opt for one of these special coffees and teas, but remember, at a high price.
For all that and much more, I show you how to prepare this delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte at home, in the simplest and mosteconomically possible.
Pumpkin compote is the base of many autumn desserts, prepare it at home!
