SUGAR-FREE SCONES
Scones are English buns, from the first bite they melt in your mouth, that’s why they are unmistakable.
They come in many flavors, fruit, vanilla and cheese, in this post I will explain how to prepare vanilla scones (basic) and the classic cheese ones. I love them! I’ve prepared them gluten-free, and of course, sugar-free.
There’s something I really like, I always say it, and that’s recipes that are prepared in individual portions. The reason is clear: when it comes to units, it’s easier to measure what you eat and not get carried away by the knife.
Scones are individual butter buns that melt in your mouth, a delicious bite.
Who hasn’t experienced that cake moment when you cut a portion thinking it’s going to be your share, but when you’re done, almost unconsciously you cut another, much smaller, and the next one is already the thickness of a sheet of paper, and then the crumbs… have you does it sound familiar?
When we prepare portions or units, call it what you want, we have the option of opening the box, taking one or two and closing it, putting it back and forgetting about it. It seems silly, but it works, it is much easier to measure what we are going to eat and restrain ourselves.
Well, this happens with scones, since they are individual buns, it is very easy to make the firm decision to consume one or two units, it is also easy to carry them in a box to have them as a snack “on the go” or in the work.
I like to make these types of recipes at the beginning of the week for my non-stop days, having healthy snacks on hand is always good, but especially when we are in a hurry and do not have time to stop and think.
Scones are a super palatable recipe, appetizing and suitable for almost everyone, I always make two versions, one savory and one sweet, the savory ones (with cheese) I serve as lunch or a mid-morning snack and the sweet ones (vanilla or with fruit) I have for breakfast or even for dessert, they are delicious and the children love them, you’ll see.
I have prepared a low carb and healthier version of the classic scones, will you try it?
Classic scones are prepared with flour wheat and the ingredient that makes them so tasty is butter, it’s not very difficult to prepare a healthier version of this typical English muffin.
I don’t know if you knew, but scones are always part of a refined 5pm English tea, although I have them with my not-so-refined 10am coffee. (Laughs).
Remember, my 2 versions: sugar-free vanilla scones and cheese scones. They are gluten-free, sugar-free and low carb.
I’m leaving you the recipe for vanilla scones below so you can prepare them without hesitation, because you’re going to love them. You can add fruit to this version, ideally with blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, or do as I do and leave them as is.
Go ahead and try these scones and tell me about your experience in the comments. 😉
A hug!
Francesca.

SCONES DE VAINILLA
Ingredients
- 1 taza harina de almendra
- 2 cda harina de almendra
- 1/4 taza harina de coco (no coco rallado)
- 1/2 tsp sal marina
- 1/2 tsp levadura química (impulsor)
- 30 g mantequilla derretida
- 1 huevo
- 1/4 taza leche entera
- 1/4 cucharadita esencia de vainilla
- 2 cda eritritol
- arándanos, fresas, moras (opcional)
Instructions

Buenas! Acabe de fer els scones. He de dir que pensava que no m’ixirien be perque la massa no era tan compacta com la teua i he fet el rotllo i he tallat les porcions com he pogut! La formeta es com de ametllata o rossegons pero de sabor bonissims! No ho esperava. Fins al meu novio li han agradat!! Per a ell li faltava sucre pero be😂😀. Molt bona recepta. Jo l’he menjat en mermelada de taronja canella i panses ,que vaig comprar a xalo. Pd: ma mare s’ha quedat maravellada amb les dentilles😉
