BURGER WITHOUT BUN (LOW CARB)
If you like fast food, make it healthy, an example is preparing a hamburger without a bun and enjoy it a thousand times more than if you were at your favorite hamburger restaurant.
When you decide to follow a low-carb diet, you should look for alternatives to replace or simply avoid those foods that provide a lot of them. It’s not about avoiding their consumption, it’s about not consuming them in excess.
How do you do that? Very simple, by promoting the consumption of carbohydrates from vegetables, fruits, greens, legumes, nuts, and seeds.
There is a product rich in carbohydrates (HC) that is found in many foods that are consumed regularly, it is flour, mainly refined wheat flour.
If you avoid bread, your hamburger will be much lighter.
Flour is in bread (and when I say bread, I also mean pizza dough, cakes, tortillas, sticks), in pastries, in pasta, etc., and excessive consumption of These foods negatively affect our health.
We shouldn’t be simplistic; there are many types of flour from different grains. Some are superior quality, while others are ultra-refined and of dubious quality.
What is usually the bread that is eaten with hamburgers like? Unfortunately, it is usually of poor quality. The most common way to use bread is with fat and sugar, the classic round bun.
It is also true that, if you want, you can look for real bread rolls or even make them at home, but let’s not fool ourselves, that is not the norm.
That’s why preparing a hamburger without a bun is a great option, it gives you two things at the same time, avoiding excess HC, and enjoying a hamburger with everything you want without any remorse.
Choose a hamburger that is made with 100% beef, or better yet, buy the minced meat and make them yourself, that’s what I usually do, it’s the best way to control the ingredients.
Add everything you like best to your hamburger, onion, tomato, egg, bacon, pickles, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, you’ll see how much you enjoy it.
Lettuce is the perfect container for everything!
Ingredients for this bun-less burger:
- 100% beef burger
- 3 whole iceberg lettuce leaves.
- 1 slice of gouda cheese (or your favorite).
- 1/4 onion, julienned and grilled.
- Tomato.
- 1 fried egg.
- Optional: pickles, bacon.
- Mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup (don’t overdo it with the sauces).
If you decide to try this option, please let me know! I’d love to know what you think 🙂
